- Course objectives
- This course critically examines qualitative approaches applied in psychological research. The philosophical foundations of qualitative research; epistemology and ontology are introduced. Major concepts in phenomenology, grounded theory, narrative research, phenomenological research and other approaches are disscussed. The ability of the students to propose research project, i. e. to formulate research problem, research questions, proper research design, and variety of data collection procedures is being stressed. Students should be able to utilize some approaches to analysis and interpretation. Ethical issues are involved as well.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able: a)to propose research project, i. e. to formulate research problem, research questions, proper research design, and to adopt variety of data collection procedures. b) to analyze and to interpret research data (mostly texts) in two qualitative approaches at least according to their own choice: grounded theory, interpretative phenomenological analysis, heuristic analysis, narrative and discursive analysis. c)ensure the credibility of findings in relation to qualitative research

- Students are supposed to analyze parts of given text according to GT, IPA, NOI, and DA during the course.
. Exam: At the end of the course they will analyze and interpret whole given reaearch text.
