- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will obtain and practice methods of applied field research in the specific locality.
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain various theories of the Man-Landscape relationship and to create the output of their field research project.
Students should be able to understand contemporary artistic and aesthetic attitude towards nature, based for all on principles of contemporary landscaping and land-art, or contemporary visual art. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to:
- identify and summarisse the main features of studied lansdscape;
- describe factors which influence the character and use of landscapes;
- critically analyse land-use conflicts. - Syllabus
- Field research, reflections connected with ontemporary art and its attitude towards nature and landscape. Individual work. Conclusion, discussions

- The course is taught as an research excursion to the Czech mountain range "Central Mountains" (České Středohoří/Ostrava/Bezděz region.

- The exkursion is only in Czech languague. The date is still to be specified, it will probably be an extended weekend (Thurs-Sun) between April and May, the condition for the credit is the completion of the whole excursion. Accommodation will be provided at your own expense. For the excursion to the České Středohoří/Bezděz region it is necessary to have hiking equipment (backpack, sleeping bag, hiking boots, etc.) and to count on a day's walking in moderately difficult terrain up to 15 km.
