- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present the basic issues disputed within environmental ethics.
- Learning outcomes
- Knowledge and Understanding: After the course student knows what is environmental ethics, animal ethics, what are environmental values. Student also understands the nature of moral obligations towards nature and non-human beings and is able to give arguments for nature/animals protection. Intellectual capabilities: After the course student is able to apply ethical knowledge to his/her moral choices. He/she is able to analyse the daily situations in context of moral obligations towards nature and non-human beings.
- Syllabus
- The aim of the course is to present the basic issues disputed within environmental ethics, the course will consist of 2 modules: 1. Introductory lecture on Environmental Ethics: the frames of moral consideration in Environmental Ethics 2. Ethics towards non-human other 3. Introduction to axiology of environmental ethics 4. Environmental Virtue Ethics
