Course objectives
The aim is to acquaint students with the essence of questionnaire surveys, to know their strengths and weaknesses and the possibilities of their application. Course graduates will be able to understand and critically evaluate projects and studies using questionnaire surveys, to understand and evaluate the reliability, validity and interpretation of the findings. They will be able to design and conduct a questionnaire survey, taking into account the choice of measurement, the sample selection and the choice of the specific collection method. They will be able to draw correct conclusions with regard to the data obtained and their limits, both in own research and in the evaluation of other questionnaire studies.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Interpret the findings of questionnaire surveys
- Evaluate their reliability and validity
- Design a questionnaire
- Conduct a questionnaire survey
Syllabus
  • Introduction to the form and requirements of the course; Basic principles of the questionnaire survey; Different forms of questionnaire survey: Where and how to use this type of data collection; Measurement in questionnaire research: questionnaire preparation, items types, items formulation, cognitive testing and pilot studies; Sampling, reliability, validity, ethics. Language of the course: Czech.
