The goal of the course is that upon completion, students will be oriented to the issues of possible, necessary and inadmissible interventions in problem situations of people of minority status. Upon completion of the course, they will be proficient in the general method of social work with people of minority status (contact, assessment, decision-making, intervention, evaluation).
- Learning outcomes
- Students are able to use the concepts of diversity, intersectionality and otherness to reflect on the nature of problems faced by people in minority status.
Students know the positives and negatives of specific meta-approaches (administrative/procedural and situational) and ideally typical approaches (therapeutic, counselling, and reform/activist) social workers take to working with members of minority groups.
