- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the specifics of online communication, its theoretical framing, various forms, and the ways to research it.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will:
- know theories that focus on computer-mediated communication and human behavior in various online environments
- understand the terms of synchronous and asynchronous communication, cueless environment, online disinhibition
- be able to describe how context and environmental specifics, perceptions and individual's personality affect one's behavior online - Syllabus

- - Communication theories
- - Specifics of different online environments
- - Anonymity, disinhibition, online self-disclosure - Lying and pretending online
- - Self-presentation on social-networking sites
- - Communication within online communitites
- - Credibility of online information
- - Risky online communication of children and adolescents
