The presumption for the participation in the course is the acknowledgement with basic terminology of environmental studies and general knowledge of political structure in the Czech Republic.

Course objectives
Course provides to the students basic orientation in political ideologies and in their importance for the environmental issues. Participants will obtain general overview about environmental dimension of the Czech party system and they will adopt basic conceptual framework to theoretically discuss and analyze the political discourse in both historical and global context.
Learning outcomes
Course participants will be able to:
- analyze ideological presuppositions of environmental policies
- distinguish between main environmentally-relevant ideological streams
- describe histroy of environmentally-focused political efforts
- orient themselves in a politics of "green parties"
- define terms commonly used in environmental politics
- describe legislatory structure of environmental politics and policy
- identify instruments of environmental policy

  • 2) Main political ideologies form environmental perspective (liberalism, conservatism, socialism, anarchism)
  • 3) Eco-dictatorship, ecofascism
  • 4) Evolution of the czech ecological politics
  • 5) Czech party system from environmental perspective
