Prerequisites
The course is enrolled in the semester when student plans to submit his or her final work. Submitting final work elaborated following the assignment in a predetermined date is a prerequisite for credit recognition. To complete the course it is necessary that the text of the submitted thesis respects all formal requirements set by the SPSP department.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
On successful completion of the course student will be able to apply key principles of research methodology, to make his or her research and to present its results in the form of a thesis following the theoretical, methodological, and formal demands of the field of study.
Learning outcomes
Write a diploma thesis according to the professional standard of the field; Apply the principles of research methodology; To know and apply the formal requirements of the professional style of all the principles of quoting a professional text; Apply in practice ethical standards to scientific research;
Syllabus
  • The course is devoted to the following topics and issues:
  • 1. Empirical research.
  • 2. Interpretation of findings in terms of relevant research questions.
  • 3. Presentation of research results using academic text.

Teaching methods
The learning outcomes of the course will be attained using the following teaching methods: 1. Making original research (including elaborating theoretical a methodical design, collecting empirical information and interpreting it) by the student. 2. Expressing information on the research process and research results by thesis writing following academic manners of arguing by students. 3. Individual consultation by thesis supervisor.
Assessment methods
To complete the course, all of the following requirements must be met: 1) The text of the thesis is submitted by the deadline. 2) The thesis text is submitted in the prescribed template. 3) The text of the thesis follows the IS assignment (including the title of the thesis in Czech and English). 4) The text of the thesis meets all the required formal requirements.
