Course objectives
In the Television News subject you will be shooting videos. And shooting. And shooting. And writing. And editing. And cutting. And cutting again. We'll guide you in practicing television formats from short interviews, to read-alouds, to creative stand-ups, to independent reporting. You'll learn from your own mistakes and ours. We'll give you a behind-the-scenes look at the TV newsroom and how the various professions work together. We'll guide you through the transformation of stark information into an engaging and visually appealing television story. The course should be an ideal preparation for the TV Press and your independent practice/work in (not only) TV news editing. We will be inviting guests from the television background. In classes you will try out practical tasks. Part of the preparation for the course is watching newscasts of individual TV stations.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to find and arrange a topic after the course. Design its treatment and appropriate television format. To shoot, write and edit a television piece.
