German for Social Studies II follows the course CJVN401. Students do not have to have CJVN401 completed before enroling this course. Previous language knowledge from secondary school is expected - B1 - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Students should have a B2 (Common European Framework of Reference) level of German language competence. The course is focused on academic text comprehension, ability to communicate and present academic topics. Student should be able to follow an academic discussion, understand the main ideas of academic texts of their field of study, interact with a native speaker fluently and spontaneously, and explain their opinion on current issues.

- Students are able to: - give an opinion to complex topics - summarize a video and comment on it - summarize a text and comment on it - give a presentation.

- Practical and interactive way of teaching, emphasizing presentation and argumentation of opinions - developing communication skills - academic language - listening and reading comprehension - presentations - argumentation

- 1. compulsory attendance (80%), 2. 4 assignments during the term = 1 minipresentation, 1 project, 1 video + summary, 1 academic text relating to students study fields + summary The oral exam = presentation + discussion -explaining opinions, argumentation.
