Prerequisites
Experience in editorial process, field work, adequate experience or education in the field (at least BA) is expected. Completion of or concurrent enrollment in ZKS01 is required to enroll in the seminar.

Course objectives
The course will focus on covering crisis situations, with an emphasis on the work of journalists with vulnerable groups of people (homeless people, refugees, children, victims of crime/disasters...), evaluating information in crises (with an emphasis on understanding the negative role of speculation and misinformation) and dealing with experts (what to ask from people in the expert field, how to deal with them, how to work with the information provided). The seminar series builds on the lecture course ZKS01 and develops the acquired knowledge in the form of group discussions on actual cases, the creation of case studies and group consultations on situations and problems encountered by participants in practice.
Learning outcomes
Graduates will be able to recognize, name and find solutions to ethical problems in the work of journalists in crises and with vulnerable people and apply the normative and legal framework for such journalistic work.

Teaching methods
Presentation seminars with discussion (four thematic workshops over two Saturdays), self-study from assigned materials, continuous preparation for seminars and creation of own presentation.
Assessment methods
Active participation in seminar discussions, presentation and discussion of your own case study.
