Course objectives
The purpose of this subject is to provide students with complex knowledge on the legal regulation dealing with Land Registry.
Learning outcomes
Student will have a theoretical and practical knowledge of the field of the Land Registry at the end of the course. He will be able to work with the sources of law related to the Land Registry. Based on the understanding of the nature and mission of the Land Registry student will be able to explain its functions and principles of its management. He will have an overview of all forms of the writes to the Land Registry, both theoretical and practical aspects.
Syllabus
  • Land Registry as a public list. Basic principles of the development of the Land Registry. The importance of the recodification of private law for the rights registration in the Land Registry and their protection. Concept, function, object, subject and content of the Land Registry. Writes of rights and other data to the Land Registry – the general background. Deposit, record a note in the Land Registry and their deleting. Writing of other data in the Land Registry. Geometric plan. Renewal of cadastral documents. Land Managment and the Land Registry. Providing data from the Land Registry. Responsibilities of owners and other beneficiaries in relation to the Land Registry. Liability for breach of obligations in the field of the Land Registry. Administration in the Land Registry. Municipalities and public authorities in relation to the Land Registry. The Land Registry and judicial review.

Teaching methods
Lectures - an analytical look at the contemporary legislation, the related case law and the application problems relating to the presented topics. Power point presentations will be used and students will be given an interactive approach during the lecture. Hence students will be given a chance to ask questions regarding to the subject of the lecture. Specific information about the content of the study will be specified in the interactive syllabus. Communication will take place via e-mail and within the MS Teams application.
Assessment methods
Colloquium – colloquial written work and its oral presentation and demonstration of knowledge in basic institutes of the Land Registry. Depending on the epidemiological situation, either online via MS Teams or in person. The form of the presentation will be specified to the students in the information at the announced date
