Course objectives
The aim of the course is the theoretical mastery of the issues related to the topic of the dissertation and its broader theoretical basis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to: - acquire knowledge of the theoretical legal basis of the dissertation research, - understand the connection with other fields, - be able to solve legal problems with the help of relevant jurisprudence, - be able to discuss a problem and defend one's opinions in a team, - prepare a theoretical essay in written form, - present the prepared topic in the group.
Syllabus
  • The particular focus of this course depends on the topic of the dissertation thesis. Therefore, its content will be specified by the guarantor in cooperation with the student with the aim to elaborate a complex part of the dissertation thesis which will be devoted to selected environmental law aspects. The outcome of the research will be assessed by the guarantor. Consultations with other experts in this field including experts from other departments is possible. The course can be focused on: - relations between the topic of the dissertation thesis and environmental law issues - the role of environmental regulation in relation to dissertation topic - the significance of environmemntal law principles and regulatory instruments etc.
Teaching methods
Seminar work prepared on a selected topic approved in advance by the teacher.
Assessment methods
Colloquium. The basis for evaluating is a seminar paper on a selected topic and then a discussion on this topic with the demonstration of broader theoretical knowledge at a joint colloquium or within an individual consultation.

The scope of the seminar paper is 5-15 pages of text. The seminar paper must be submitted at least 3 working days before the colloquium or individual consultation.
