Prerequisites
The basic prerequisite for starting the course in International Private Law can be seen in at least essential knowledge of Civil Law and Business Law.

Syllabus
  • The aim of this course is to make the students familiar with and aware of the issues of legal regulation in the regimes of civil and public legal relations with an international element. The course emphasizes the following topics: sources of International Private Law ( international agreement and that of domestic character), methods of International Private Law (especialy conflicts of law and the direct method), general issues of the Conflict of Law (qualification, feedback reference, etc.), public order (active and passive public order, peremptory rules in IPL), specific issues of the Conflict of Law (Law of Contract, Legal Interests, Personal Status Issues, Laws of Succession, Family Law, Labour Law) and basics of International Procedural Law. Considerable attention is paid to the issues of international arbitration from the viewpoint of the rules of domestic origin and those of international ones binding for the Czech Republic. This basic course, which is completed by a credit test, preceedes two other courses: European International Private Law and International Private Law in the practice of Courts. The students take the examination in one of these courses together with International Private Law.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
V souladu se Statutem jsou přednášky nepovinné. Semináře jsou povinné. Vzhledem k charakteru tohoto předmětu je konán až na závěr výuky test. Podmínkou získání zápočtu je složení testu a účast na seminářích.
