- Course objectives
- Constitutional Law introduces students in basic problems of the theory of the constitution and in values the constitution of the Czech Republic is based on. Further deals with the legal regulation of state power and its organisation in the Czech Republic (separation of powers, particular constitutional bodies, their position to each other, rules of their procedure), then with the relation of state and individuals (citizenship, fundamental rights and freedom, their protection, constitutional foundations of the status of foreigners).

- Concept, subject, sources of constitutional law. Continuity and discontinuity in the development of the Czech constitutional law. Constitutional accountability. Constitution as a fundamental law. Interpretation and application of the Czech constitution. International law and the municipal law. Promulgation of statutes and other legal regulations. Right to associate and the right of the political parties in the Czech Republic. Electoral law and its principles. Electoral procedure. Judicial protection of franchise. Direct democracy in the Czech Republic. Territorial organisation of the Czech Republic. Frontiers. Capital. Citizenship. Concept. Principles of legal regulation. International agreements. How the Czech citizenship is acquired and lost.
