Course objectives

The aim of the course is to expose the students to various types of authentic legal texts - both oral and written.

Syllabus

• Topics for authentic materials work, discussion and terminology acquisition: Running a business, organization - types of companies, internal management, raising capital, termination of business: Powell:68-74, Chromá II: Units 15 - 16 Family law, nullification of marriage, divorce, rights of succession, protection of children: Powell:75-81, Chromá I: Unit 12 Law and consumers, contracts between goods and services suppliers and consumers, exemption clauses, product liability: Powell:82-87, Chromá I: 377/46, 386/1, 411/45 Employment law, employment rights, EU employment law: Powell:88-92, Chromá II: Unit 18 Intellectual property, patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, infringing copyright: Powell: 93-96, Chromá I: Unit 9, work with authentic materials
