- Course objectives
- The course on „Church Law“ introduces main aspects of constitutional freedom of religion, confessional law and development of church and state relations in the Czech Lands since 19th century. From comparative point of view, the situation in some other European countries and the USA shall be described, as well as case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and other international jurisprudence (Concordats). The Course further offers overview of internal legal systems of churches and legal organizations registered in the Czech Republic, especially Canon Law of the Catholic Church.

- Development of Confessional law in the Czech Lands since 19th century
- Freedom of religion and the Czech Constitution
- Overview of Czech Confessional law
- Religious education, Church schools.
- Right of Church to appoint chaplains serving in the army, in the police and in the prisons
- Religious rights and the criminal law. Seal of the Confessional and the criminal procedure.
- Church service in the field of social and health services. Legal status of charitable organizations of the Church.
- Legal status of Church ministers. Financing of churches activities from the State.
- Legal marriages conducted by the church. Religion and family.
- Church property restitution after 1989.
- Case-law of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic and the European Court of Human rights.
- International aspects of religious freedom. Agreements and Concordats between church and state.
- Church and State relations in selected European countries and in the USA.
- Churches and religious organizations in the Czech Republic.
- Overview of Canon Law.
- Internal regulations of churches and religious organizations.
