Course objectives
After successful completion of the course Administrative Science: student - has a deeper knowledge of the actual structure and functioning of public administration as a social management systém, is able to orientace in fundamental aspects and problems of modern public administration in a democratic rule of law and the European administrative area, has knowledge of the decision-making processes in public administration (including the principles of good governance), of a personal basis of public administration and civil service, of the principles of ethics and ethical codes, - is able to orientate in in information policy and standards of public administration, - can design problem solving specific issues related to the organization and activities of public administration, with respect to the current reformative process, - is able to convey knowledge of the latest developments and trends in European public administration systems for the preparation of modernization processes in public administration.
Syllabus
  • The term and the subject of administrative science, administrative science and the theory of administrative law (regulatory reform), system of public administration and public administration’s organizational principles, public administration’s decision-making procedures, principles of good governance and its enforcement, public administration’s effectiveness, public administration employees, civil service (the main character, criteria, current situation), public administration’s ethics and ethic codes, public administration reforms (the term, foundation, development and trends).
