- Course objectives
- The main objectives can be summarized as follows: to be introduced to legal French to learn specific features of the French administrative and legal system to get new knowledge and new communicative competences and oral skills, in particular understanding both written and spoken texts.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to understand texts on specific topics and explain the key concepts in the following areas: Administrative organisation in France. Executive and Legislative Bodies. Parliament and Constitutional Council. Elections. Basic concepts in law and in civil Law. Lexis and grammar of the language for specific purposes. They will be able to use this information in discussions on specific topics, to explain and to support their arguments. Using acquired knowledge students will be able to interpret unknown texts.

- Topics for work with texts and for communicating professional issues relating to the following fields: Administrative organisation in France. Executive and Legislative Bodies. Parliament and Constitutional Counicl. French constitution. Elections. Basic concepts in law and in civil Law. Judiciary employees. Practice of the courts. Lexis and grammar of the language for specific purposes.
