- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
Describe and explain: forming and functioning system of management (consists of three pillars: personal management, management in general, leadership); what is subject of managerial science, what kinds of managerial paradigm shifs come to; content and purpose of particular managerial components (enviroment, planning, organizing, dicision making, managerial processes, controlling, information and communitation, human recourses and human potential, individul or grouped or organizational culture)
Distinguish different content's concepts of management in general
Judge if personal premises and qualification of particular person conform to be a good manager
Propose recommendations for improvment of system of management of particular object (person, interest group, organization) and these recommendations assess
Argue for vaster usage of theoretic pieces of knowledge in managerial practice - Syllabus
- The concept of management - development of management concepts, management as a science, theory and practice management system (consists of 3 pillars: personal management, general management, leadership); levels of management
- Introduction to the personal management - the process of self-discovery, personal paradigm, mental principles, 7 helpful habits, time management matrix
- Management components "surrounding environment and planning" - the general environment, industry environment, analysis of the surrounding environment, internal environment, SWOT analysis, planning with an emphasis on strategic planning, business plan
- Decision making - theory of decision making, types of decision problems, decision making under risk and uncertainty, a modified decision-making process, multicriteria decision making
- Organizing - the logical process of organizing, organizational structures, power relations, responsibility
- Controlling - internal and external monitoring, evaluation criteria, modern approaches to control
- Human resources - staffing, staff evaluation, theories of motivation, career management
- Communication - The principles of successful communication, forms of communication
