Course objectives
The main aim of this course is to deepen knowledge acquired in previous compulsory administrative law courses. At the end of the course student shall be able to comprehend the nature and function of local administration, render the meaning of its function and argue for its justness. They should be also able to suggest a solution of propounded case studies including the ability to give reason for the solution.
Syllabus
  • Local Administration Concept and nature of local administration; Outline of development of local administration from the mid-19th century in the Czech lands; Principles of organisation of European systems of local administration; Concept and characterisation of the current local administration in the Czech Republic; Constitutional basis of local administration organisation and activity; Legal regulation of local administration organisation; Local administration activity and its implementation with view to its local level; Legality guarantees in local administration.

Written elaboration and oral presentation of sub-themes. The course is completed by colloquium - an interview in group of 3 – 5 students.
