Course objectives
The course gives the basic overview of Private International Law - its subject-matter, sources, methods and choice-of-law regulation of selected private relations and questions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will: understand the concept and subject of Private International Law; know its sources; be able to understand the methods of Private International Law; be able to apply these methods on simple situations

  • Sources of PIL.
  • Methods of PIL. Selected problems of coflict rules (public policy, mandatory rules.
  • Conflict rules for persons.
  • Conflict rules for contracts and delicts.
  • Conflict rules for rights in rem.
