- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course is the understanding of the notion of sovereignty, as it is understood in international law, and its relation to the legal personality, from the following aspects: Notion of sovereignty in international and national law. State as a sovereign subject of international law, states with no full sovereignty, but with legan personality. Particular entities with incomplete sovereignty but with legal personality. Notion of the subject of international law (legal personality). Different understanding of the legal personality in international law, interrelation between legal subjectivity (personality) and the capacity to participate in international legal relation. Legal personality of EU.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will fully understand notions of sovereignty, capacity and subjectivity (legal personality), that have in international law a specific meaning. He will be able to determine, whether a certain entity is or not subject of international law and to what extent States not fully sovereign are real States.
