The student should have a basic idea of the functioning of the legal system, the basic concepts and institutes of private law, as well as the differences between absolute and relative rights. Furthermore, the student should have sufficient knowledge in relation to the general part of the law of obligations. The student must successfully complete MP419Z Law of Obligations I, MP214Zk Civil Law - General Part and MP311Zk Absolute Property Rights. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is mainly: -characterize the contract, an obligation, a tort; -define the basic types of ex contractu, ex delicto, ex quasidelicto obligations and classify them in the system of (obligation) law in the context of the law of concurrence (including commercial and labuor law) - to orientate oneself in the special part of the law of obligations governed by the Civil Code; - understand the differences between the various obligations and place them in the system of the law of obligations and understand the internal links and connections; - to motivate students to comment on the current trends in the development of civil law within the Czech Republic, the fundamental changes that are taking place; - to motivate students to be able to solve more complex practical examples while using knowledge from previous courses taught in the framework of civil law;
- Learning outcomes
- The course builds on the subjects taught in Civil law, particularly Civil Law - General Part, Absolute Property Rights, and Law of Obligations I. At the end of the course (while knowing the other parts of civil law) the student should be able to: - Understand and explain the basic characteristics of the different types of obligations, as well as the basic structure of the law of obligations in the context of civil (private) law, as well as their significance within the system of law; - to prove more profound professional knowledge, and skills in general private (civil) law, which they will also be able to apply to concrete examples from legal practice;

- Conditions for completing the seminar are according to the requirements set by the teacher in the seminar at the beginning of the semester. The condition for completing the seminar for ISP is the elaboration and submission of a seminar paper on a topic assigned individually by the ISP teacher (or other approved work) and further consultation of the material of the relevant semester in the terms set by the ISP teacher and within the scope of the teaching program. In other cases, the relevant instruction of the Dean applies.
