- In order to take the state exam, it is required to fulfill all studz requirements of the doctoral programe Law of Information and Communication Technologies.

- Course objectives
- The purpose of the exam is to verify the compliance of doctoral thesis with legal requirements and to proof required level of knowledge of the applicant in ICT law, all pursuant to the Higher Education Act.
- Learning outcomes
- The outcome shall be the evaluation of doctoral thesis, the evaluation of oral exam and overall result of the state exam.

- Positivist, pragmatic and naturalist methodology of ICT law
- Formalisation of law and recent issues in legal informatics

- The literature for the exam consists of compulsory readings of all profiling courses in law of information and communication technologies
- Teaching methods
- This course does not include any teaching. It is meant as an administrative unit for credit evaluation of the state exam.
- Assessment methods
- The state exam consists of a defence of doctoral thesis and an oral exam. Doctoral thesis is defended in front of a standing committee or an ad hoc committee. The applicant makes an oral statement about his or her research, the thesis and its conclusions. The applicant's statement is then followed with a discussion based on evaluation reports and questions of the members of the committee. Regular time of the defence is approx. 60 min. The oral exam is taken in front of a standing committee or an ad hoc committee. The exam consists of answers to questions directly asked by committee members. Regular time of the oral exam is approx. 60 min.
