Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge about the issue of the so-called European administrative law in its possible context. Upon successful completion of this course, students will gain knowledge about the so-called Europeanization of domestic administrative law and will also be familiar with the administrative law of the European Union. The student will have knowledge of the administrative organization of the European Union; here they will acquire knowledge of the issues of European Union agencies and networks. Overall, the student will gain sufficient orientation in the environment of European requirements for domestic administrative law, as well as administrative law of the European Union. Upon successful completion of this course, students will expand their existing knowledge of administrative law and European Union law.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- define the concept of European administrative law;
- define the essence of Europeanization;
- be familiar with the basic features of the administrative law of the European Union and its bodies;
Syllabus
  • 1) The concept of European Administrative Law; Europeanization of administrative law; Council of Europe and the European Union 2) Administrative Law and European Administrative Law (comparative view). A closer comparison of the concept of administrative law in the surrounding European countries 3) Administrative Law of the European Union. Administrative competence of the European Union, the so-called agencies and administrative networks. Administrative Code of the European Union 4) Regional and cohesion policy of the European Union. Bases of European non - sovereign administration. 5) The principle of cooperation in the administrative law of the European Union. 6) Protection of subjective rights in the administrative law of the European Union, European Ombudsman; principle of good administration (concept, essence, sources, case law); European administrative justice.
