Course objectives
The course is designed primarily for students whose research focus is in the area of business law. In the context of corporate law, it will focus on some specifics that are not sufficiently covered in general corporate law. These include, for example, general theories of corporate law and/or current interpretative issues and discussions that take place in the field of corporate law (both in the Czech Republic and abroad).
Learning outcomes
Students should broaden their knowledge in the professional areas discussed. They should learn to formulate their own professional analytical solutions to more specifically formulated professional questions and deepen their ability to present them. They will be able to solve complex cases in selected areas based on a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations and knowledge of decision-making practice.
Syllabus
  • The course will focus on current topics addressed in the literature and case law, also taking into account the research focus of the enrolled students. The topics will broadly cover areas such as those listed above in the course objectives.

Teaching methods
Reading of assigned texts, subsequent joint discussion, solving case studies (position papers), presentation of solutions, formulation of questions on the topic and their solutions.
Assessment methods
Participation in joint meetings, professional level of contributions in the discussion, quality of prepared written documents, depth and complexity of arguments.
