Course objectives
The course provides an opportunity for in-depth study of human rights in the context of family law and European Court of Human Rights case law; The course will be a combination of lectures, debates and student-led presentations. Active participation and debate will be promoted. Students will analyse and interpret ECHR case law in order to discuss conceptual issues realated to Family law from Czech and European perspective.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to search the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and use it to argue and interpret both international and national sources of law. The student will also understand the basic theoretical concepts underlying the case law of the ECtHR.
