- Syllabus
- 1. Antitrust law, its substance and impact 2. Economics of competition and competition policy 3. European Competition Policy 4. Art. 81 of the EC Treaty 5. Horizontal and vertical agreements restraining competition 6. Abuse of a dominant position, Art. 82 of the EC Treaty 7. Mergers and acquisitions, European control of concentration between undertakings 8. Czech competition law and competition policy - general overview 9. Czech Act on Protection of Economic Competition 10. Intersection antitrust law / intellectual property law 11. Hi-tech and network industries and competition law 12. Globalization, liberalization and competition law.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Lectures are held for a minimum of 5 students. With smaller number of students attending the course, lectures are replaced with tutorials. Reading list will be given by the course co-ordinator at the fist lecture or tutorial. The examination has a written and an oral part. Examination - credit requirements: 1. Semester paper 2. Written test comprising Yes/No(True/False) or multiple choice questions 3. Discussion on the semester paper
