Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the development of legal institutions and legal institutes in connection with and depending on decesive social changes and point out the connection between processes, which occur in society and changes, which we can follow in modern law. Learning the basic characteristics of modern law. Understanding the system of modern law. Understanding the essence of the Continental law and the Anglo-Saxon law.
Syllabus
  • Characteristics of modern law. Vested human rights. Phenomenon of nationalism in modern history. World division into blocks and WW1. Versailles system. United Nations. Fascism and totalitarian systems, WWII. Foundation of the United Nations organisation. Development after 1945 - "Cold War". Development of law in the USA. Development of law in Russia and the USSR. Development of law in France. Development of law in Germany. Development of law in Italy.

Assessment methods
The teaching of this compulsory optional subject takes place in the form of optional lectures in the 2 nd semester and is ended by a colloguium. For the successful passing of the colloguium it is necessary to attend lectures to a certain extent and to pass 2 written tests during the semester.
