- At the end of the course students should be able to:
to review legal and artistic vision of history;
to illustrate and understand distinction between medieval and contemporary concept of law;
to illustrate manipulating people in totalitarian societies (Soviet and Nazi);
to illustrate a period manipulation with historical experience - Syllabus
- 1. Medieval Court Trial (Film - The Hour of the Pig);
- 2.The French Revolution and its position within history (Film - Danton);
- 3.Germany in the first half of the 20th century (Film - Tin Drum);
- 4.Stalinism in the Soviet Union (Film - Burnt by the Sun);
- 5.Poland as a part of the Soviet bloc (Film – Katyn);
- 6.German Democratic Republic as a part of the Soviet bloc (Film - The Lives of Others);
