Course objectives
The course of Czech Labour Law is intented on the knowledge of the basic legal regulation of the labour law in the Czech Republic. At the end of this course student shloud be able to understand the basic regulation of the Czech Labour Law.
Syllabus
  • 1. Notion of labour law, basic principles 2. Labour relation, its characteristics, subjects, its creation 3. Labour contract 4. Modifications of the labour contract and of working conditions, missions 5. Working time schedules 6. Wages and salaries, their protection 7. Termination of labour contract, its invalid cancellation 8. Prevention and liability. Liability of the employee 9. Liability of the employer, liability in special cases 10. Liability for injuries and health damages 11. Collective labour law, trade unions and their legal position 12. Settlement of collective labour disputes.
Assessment methods
Lectures are held for a minimum of 5 students. With smaller number of students attending the course, lectures are replaced with tutorials. Reading list will be given by the course co-ordinator at the fist lecture or tutorial. The examination has a written and an oral part. Examination - credit requirements: 1. Semester paper 2. Written test comprising Yes/No(True/False) or multiple choice questions 3. Discussion on the semester paper
