Course objectives
At the end of the course, student should be able to: - understand basic issues in strategy, polycing and legal regulation of energy markets - analyze and solve particular problems of production and distribution of electricity - analyze and solve particular problems of production and distribution of gas - - analyze and solve particular problems of production and distribution of heat - analyze and solve particular problems of re-usable power resources - analyze and solve particular problems of legal backing of transactions on energy markets
Syllabus
  • intrioduction, system of energy law, assignment of questionnaires
  • global issues in world energy policy, overview of international and Czech legal regulation
  • role of the Energy Regulation Authority and the Commission
  • production, transport, distribution and marketing of electricity
  • business relations in electricity industry
  • consumer relations in electricity industry
  • unjust energy consumption and enforcement of obligations
  • legal regulation of the gas market I
  • legal regulation of the gas market II
  • legal regulation of the production of heat
  • legal regulation of exploitation of natural energy resources
  • a critical view - environmental protection and re-usable sources of energy
  • conclusion, discussion of colloquial works

Teaching methods
lectures, seminars, e-learning application, workshops with practicing professionals
Assessment methods
questionnaires in e-learning application - the colloquium will be awarded upon successful completion of at least 6 out of total 10 questionnaires.
