- Course objectives
- Main objectives are as follows:
- to understand and explain general theory on public services and municipal public services;
- to understand the differences between the European and Anglo-Saxon municipal systems and the different approaches of municipal tasks;
- to understand structural components of the municipal service provision, and the alternative (indirect) services provision solutions (contracting out and PPP);
- to analyse the elements of a municipal service system and the different solutions in the liberal democracies;
- to use knowledge to be able to decide what are the best solutions for a municipal service model. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, student should be able:
- to understand and explain general theory on (municipal) public services;
- to understand the differences between the different approaches of municipal service systems;
- to understand structural components of the municipal services;
- to analyse differences between the direct and indirect municipal services provision and ;
- to use knowledge to be able to decide what are the best solutions for a municipal service model. - Syllabus
