Course objectives
The course is aimed at deepening the knowledge in the field of program documents such as policies, plans and programmes, which are applied not only in the area of environmental protection but also in other areas of public administration. The student will be provided with the consultations necessary for him to elaborate the part of his thesis devoted to various aspects of programme documents in the frame of the objective of the thesis. The course is focused on the role, legal form and inter-relations between individual programme documents.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, the student will have detailed knowledge in area of programme documents serving as the basis for his further reasearch. The student will be able to: - identify the scope of his work related to the mechanism of application of programme documents - screen the overlaps of programme documents with the objectives of his thesis - determine the current domestic and foreign trends in the area of programme documents - elaborate comprehensive part of his thesis containing the analysis and evaluation of programme document related to the objectives of his thesis - elaborate comprehensive part of his thesis focused on inter-relations between programme documents and other regulatory instruments.
Syllabus
  • The particular focus of this course depends on the topic of the dissertation thesis. Therefore, its content will be specified by the consultant in cooperation with the student with the aim to elaborate a complex part of the dissertation thesis which will be devoted to programmes and plans. The outcome of the research will be assessed by the consultant. Consutations with other experts in this field including experts from other departments is possible. The course can be focused on: - relations between the topic of dissertation thesis and programmes and plans as significant legal instruments - the role of programmes and plans in the regulatory system - the significance and the form of programmes and other planning instruments etc.

Teaching methods
The basic method is individual consultation provided by the consultant and by other experts in the field of planning and/or programming documents and in areas related to the dissertation topic.
Assessment methods
The assessment of the work is provided by the consultant based on previously determined content of the ISP. The outcome of this course is usually presented in the form of a part of the dissertation thesis devoted to programming and planning documents.
