Course objectives
The course is focused on the current development of legal science and practice in the field, which is relevant for the student with regard to the research focus of his / her dissertation. The aim is to draw knowledge from current novelties in literature and case law and, in cooperation with the supervisor, to potentially use it in the preparation of the dissertation and / or to enhance the knowledge in the field of study.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student should • - be acquainted with the latest developments in literature and case-law in the field of his / her doctoral theses - be able to use the acquired knowledge for further preparation of the dissertation • - obtain feedback from the supervisor on the acquired information and its usefulness
Syllabus
  • To complete the course, the student will focus on the current development of legal science and practice in the field of research dissertation, respectively areas directly related. In particular, the student will carry out a review of the novelties in the literature and case law (if relevant) for the last period (typically a semester) and discuss with the supervisor the interesting lessons learned from it. In particular, they discuss whether some of these findings will be useful for the preparation of the dissertation and how. The content of the content can be determined by the supervisor.

Assessment methods
The course is completed on the basis of individual consultations with the supervisor. The student will present the current development of legal science and practice (especially literature and case law) in the field of research focus of dissertation or in areas directly related and they discuss the interesting knowledge that the student gained from it. Detailed requirements for completion of the course can be set by the supervisor.
