- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive view of the theory of human rights and to acquaint them with their philosophical and ethical background.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: - describe the main problems of the current theory of human rights, - explain the basic theoretical approaches to these rights, - explain the moral nature of this concept, - apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the argumentation by specific human rights.

- 1) Rights and their theories 2) The concept of human rights 3) Universality of human rights and (cultural) relativism 4) Justification of human rights I: traditional approaches 5) Justification of human rights II: political conceptions and alternative approaches 6) The problem of the holder of human rights and the holder of corresponding duties 7) Current challenges for theory of human rights
