Course objectives
The purpose of this course is enhancing - above knowledge from law study - understanding of nature of legal framework for the economic integration - internal market - ie. delineation of particular basic economic freedoms, differences among them, exceptions, relations to other EU politics, trends in economic freedoms, their alleged convergence and socio-economic aspects.
Learning outcomes
Graduate shall be capable:
explain the scope of particular economic freedoms,
seeking case-law and legislation and identify trends related to particular freedoms, their overlaps,
understand relations with other aspects of integration in the European Union in the context of integration in the World Trade Organization.
Syllabus
  • (1) economic integraton in the EU compared with other,
  • (2) the roles of TFEU, case-law, legislation,
  • (3) delineation of phenomena addressed by the freedoms,
  • (4) understanding exceptions and restrictions,
  • (5) convergence of basic economic freedoms,
  • (6) competence to regulate and competence of the member states.
Teaching methods
Seminar.
Assessment methods
Analysis of selected problem related to the dissertation, if possible.
