Course objectives
The aim of this course is to acquire detailed knowledge in the area of environmental law necessary for the elaboration of the part of the dissertation thesis which will be devoted to environmental issues.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course the student will have detailed knowledge in the area of environmental law which will provide for the basis for his further research. The student will be able to: - identify the scope of his dissertation thesis which relates to the environmental law; - identify the areas of environmental law relevant to his dissertation thesis ; - describe current domestic and foreign trends in the area of the dissertation topic; - elaborate the complex part of dissertation thesis focused on the assessment of environmental regulation in respect to the dissertation topic; - to prepare the complex part of his dissertation thesis.
Syllabus
  • The particular focus of this course depends on the topic of the dissertation thesis. Therefore, its content will be specified by the guarantor in cooperation with the student with the aim to elaborate a complex part of the dissertation thesis which will be devoted to selected environmental law aspects. The outcome of the research will be assessed by the guarantor. Consultations with other experts in this field including experts from other departments is possible. The course can be focused on: - relations between the topic of the dissertation thesis and environmental law issues - the role of environmental regulation in relation to dissertation topic - the significance of environmemntal law principles and regulatory instruments etc.

Teaching methods
The basic education method is individual consultation with the guarantor and other experts in the area of the dissertation topic
Assessment methods
The assessment of the work is provided by the guarantor based on previously determined content of the ISP. The outcome of this course is usually presented in the form of a specific part of the dissertation thesis devoted to environmental law issues.
