- Course objectives
- After completing the course, students will be able to apply environmental law in practice in the context of the activities of public authorities.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will - understand the context of international, EU and Czech environmental law, - identify relevant legislation and determine the relationship between basic environmental protection regulations and, in particular, construction law regulations, - be able to define the basic procedures of public administration and forms of decision-making in environmental protection, - identify liability relationships and procedures for their resolution.

- 1. Environmental law - Czech, EU, international - system and interrelations 2. The right to a favourable environment and the right to information on the environment - means of enforcement 3. Public administration in the field of environmental protection - system, subjects, interrelations, forms of activity, links to other subjects 4. Public participation in environmental protection - Aarhus Convention, forms of participation 5. IPPC 6. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA, SEA) 7. Environmental protection in processes under the Building Act 8. Liability in environmental law with emphasis on administrative liability

- Teaching methods
- Lectures. Use of powerpoint presentations. Interactive approach to students within the lecture. Opportunity for students to ask questions about the issues presented in the lecture. Support in the form of e-learning (interactive syllabus, answer sheet testing).
- Assessment methods
- Colloquium in the form of a debate on the topics presented. Knowledge of legal regulations and the relationship between the basic legal provisions, including the ability to solve simple case studies, is required. The colloquium will be conducted in a face-to-face format, in case of limitations of face-to-face teaching via MS Teams.
