Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of general and special epidemiology focusing on the risks of transmission of food infections. An attention is paid especially to food intoxication, specific and nonspecific alimentary diseases including parasitic etiology. A separate part is the issue of hospital hygiene and related legislation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able to understand and explain the process of spread of the infection and factors influencing transmission of infections.
Students will be able to use information about the current epidemiological situation.
Students will be able to create repressive anti-epidemic measures to provide outbreaks.
A graduate of the field is able to make reasoned decisions in the cumulative incidence of known infectious diseases.

  • - Epidemiology of infectious diseases. The process of spreading diseases. Preventive and repressive anti-epidemic measures.
  • - Alimentary infections.
  • - Respiratory infections.
  • - Parasitic infections of alimentary origin.
  • - Viral hepatitis.
