Course objectives
Aim of the subject is to provide students with theoretical knowledge necessary to collection, analyze and presentation of data and veryfying hypothesis.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to
-use the acquired knowledge in the comparison of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures from which to choose the most appropriate method in estimating the health needs of the population group,
- to use in monitoring and explaining differences in the health status of different groups of people.

  • Importance of statistics in medical research and medical practice
  • Basic statistic definitions (basic sample, selection, probability )
  • Theoretical distribution (normal, binomic)
  • Stages of the statistic search
  • Datas description (sorting, graphs, indicators)
  • Variability in medicine
  • Statistical induction, conditions
  • Theory of estimation
  • Testing of statistical hypothesis
  • Evaluation of quantitative quantities dependency
  • Evaluation of qualitative quantities dependency
  • Level comparison non-parametric tests
  • Validation of dependency non-parametric tests
  • Risk indicators,evaluation, interpretation
  • Explanation possibilities of perceptible association
