Course objectives
The main learning objectives are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the organization and importance of psychiatric care in urgent acute care
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders;
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about dealing with acute psychiatric conditions;
obtaining theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment in psychiatry.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the importance and organization of psychiatric care in acute urgent care
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common mental disorders
- suggest appropriate acute treatment to calm an agitated.

Hybrid form of teaching - a combination of face-to-face and online teaching.

The first and last lectures take place face-to-face on Wednesday 21 February and 4 March 2024 from 12:00-2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Psychiatric Clinic of the FN Brno Bohunice, building G, 2nd floor.

The 2nd - 6th weeks are taught online in the form of self-study according to the Interactive curriculum, published in IS MUNI.
