Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to teach students basic orientation in the problems of child development, health and illness.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is able to: • - understand the physiology and pathology of the fetus and newborn • - understand the specific problems of childhood and know the division of childhood • - understand the basics of infectious diseases in childhood, mandatory vaccination • - understand the basics of non-infectious diseases in childhood age
Syllabus
  • Healthy lifestyle of a woman. Nutrition during pregnancy. Vaccination during pregnancy + postnatally. Physiological newborn. Gestational age, premature newborn. Intrauterine growth retardation, newborn of a diabetic mother. Postpartum adaptation. Pathological conditions of newborns, congenital developmental defects. RDS and BPD. NEC. Eye problems of immature newborns. Distribution of childhood age. The most common disease of childhood. Ethical and legal aspects in pediatrics.
