- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to look at obesity not only as a consequence of undesirable nutrition, but as a disease that activates other diseases. population and various subpopulations, further emphasize comprehensive approaches in prevention, cooperation with family and educational institutions and interdisciplinary cooperation in the treatment of obesity in children and adults.
- Learning outcomes
- After finishing this course, the student will be able to: 1) identify basic factors associated with development of obesity 2) explain general as well as specific pathogenic pathways associated with obesity development, including exposome theory 3) explain the relationship between obesity and its comorbidities 4) explain the relationship between obesity and major life phases and life transitions and socioeconomic status 5) critically evaluate effectiveness of individual types of therapeutic intervention in obese subjects At the end of the course, students will be able to practically apply knowledge in the process of nutritional care for an obese adult or child patient.

- 6) Basic indicators for the evaluation of obesity
- 7) Methods of body composition measurement
- 8) Genetic factors and obesity, methods of genetic examination in obese.
- 9) Macronutrients and micronutrients in nutrition of obese people
- 10) Obesity and fluid intake, choice of drinks
- 11) Sleep and obesity
- 12) Childhood obesity
- 13) Methods of evaluation of nutritional status, overview of individual examinations in obesitology.
