Course objectives
Students will learn the basics of psychohygiene as an interdisciplinary field at the border of psychology, pedagogy and medicine. Contemporary psychohygiene opens into many of its concepts into modern psychology of health, which focuses on designing health as a state of "full physical, psychological and social well-being" from a psychological aspect. The knowledge is presented in particular with regard to the previous knowledge of students in psychology and pedagogy and, in addition to the theoretical knowledge, they should also provide the student with practical skills in coping with difficult living situations and personality development.
Learning outcomes

  • Definition and subject of psychohygiene. Basic concepts of psychohygiene. Psychology of health, its definition and tasks. World Health Organization (WHO), its tasks and programs. HEALTH FOR THE 21ST CENTURY. Defining health categories. Prevention. Performance, ability to work and fatigue. Psychohygiene of rest. Relaxation and recreation. Performance progress. Biorhythmia. Performance curves. Optimizing the school timetable. Psychohygiene of leisure time. Play and relax. Psychohygiene of sleep. Imagination and relaxation. Stress phenomenon. Development of stress theory in medicine and psychology. Concept of stress and its theory. Theory of Selye and Lazarus. Eustres distracted. Challenging life situations and their coping.
