- Body fluids, blood, plasma, serum. The principles of some techniques used in clinical biochemistry (spectrophotometry, fluorimetry, ion-exchange and gel permeation chromatography, electrophoresis). Blood plasma proteins.
- Structure of haemoglobin and its relationship to the function. Hb types in the blood of healthy subjects. HbCO, MetHb, abnormal Hb types.
- Enzymes, reaction rate, progress curve, the Michaelis plot and constant. The types of enzyme inhibition.
- The enzyme activity and catalytic activity concentration, enzyme assays in clinical biochemistry. Isoenzymes.
- Test I (The topics of practicals, week 1 - 6, and of seminars, week 1 - 8.). The structures of coenzymes, their relationship to vitamins.
- Imunochemical assays in clinical chemistry.
- Proteinuria. Formed elements in the urinary sediment. Renal calculi.
