The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of exercise is the ability to apply the nursing process in the psychiatric department. They are getting knowledge about psychiatric disorders, their clinical manifestation, treatment and nursing. In the sphere of special psychiatry th emost frequent psychiatric disorder and treatment methods (including biological treatment) are presented. Emphasis is putting on principles of targeted communication with persons suffering from mental disorders both adults and children. The aim of study subject is to enlarge and deepen students knowledge.
Syllabus
  • Application of nursing process in the psychiatric department   The first contact with sick and clinically driven interview.   Investigative methods in psychiatry. The basic mental functions and their disorders (perception, thinking). The basic mental functions and their disorders (memory, intellect, emotions).
