Course objectives
Within the course knowledge acquired during previous study are deepened and extended. We put emphasis on special psychiatry. The most frequent psychiatric disorders and treatment methods are presented. Students are getting acquainted with general issues of mental health and some special topic including communication with patients suffering from mental disorders.
Syllabus
  • Position of psychiatry and organization of psychiatric care, problems of psychoses, classification of mental disorders, method of examination in psychiatry, biological treatment methods, crisis intervention, helpline and first aid in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, issues of child psychiatry, importance of family in psychiatry, eating disorders, issues of addiction, neurosology, communication and ethics.
