- Course objectives
- The subject Nursing in Surgery is one of the theoretical and practical subjects. Based on the knowledge of professional courses, in particular nursing and medical. Upon the completion of the course students will be able to characterize the basic principles of nursing care for selected surgical issues, students will master the basic methods of measurement and evaluation of vital functions, will have a basic training in applications of injections, will be able to orientated in related literature and will be able to use basic nursing terminology in practice.
- Syllabus
- Nursing (character design, brief history, nursing care). Code of Ethics. Patients' rights. Nursing process - a brief overview of methods. Categories of human needs and their saturation. Functions of practical exercises. Drug delivery methods, practical exercises. Nursing care of the surgical department - organization system and work of the equipment at the department. Kinds of operations, indications and contraindications of operations. Diagnosis of surgery - examination of a patient; nursing assesment during the Pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative period. Post-operative complications (nursing care of patients in the intensive departments). Selected topics from surgery from the perspective of nursing care
